Net margin is net income as a share of revenue. Free cash flow is cash from operations minus capital spending. Return on capital is after-tax operating income as a share of the money invested in the business: debt plus equity, minus cash.

About these figures. Agnico Eagle is a foreign company: it files an annual report on Form 40-F, prepared under international accounting standards (IFRS), instead of a 10-K, and no quarterly reports, so this page has fiscal years only. Its shares trade in the US as American depositary shares (ADSs), and one ADS can stand for several ordinary shares, so per-share figures are per ordinary share and the page has no market value, P/E or valuation model.

What Agnico Eagle does

Agnico Eagle is a Canadian gold mining company. It mines and sells gold and other precious metals from operations in Canada, Australia, Finland and Mexico, and it explores for and develops new projects. It says it is Canada's largest mining company and the second largest gold producer in the world. It was founded in 1957.

Its operating mines include LaRonde, Canadian Malartic, Goldex, Detour Lake and Macassa in Canada, Meadowbank and Meliadine in Nunavut, Fosterville in Australia, Kittila in Finland and Pinos Altos in Mexico. Its income depends on the price of gold and on how much gold its mines produce. It says it does not rely on any particular buyer or contract for its gold.

Gold is its main focus. The company also watches for, and has invested in, projects for zinc, copper, nickel, phosphate and lithium. At the end of 2025 it counted 18,216 people at work for it, including permanent employees, contractors, temporary workers and students.

Its biggest risks, as it describes them

  • Swings in the price of gold, which can change its results widely.
  • Mining accidents or adverse conditions that cut the gold it produces.
  • Remote Nunavut operations that may face difficulties.
  • Rising costs per ounce from inflation and other outside factors.
  • Reserve estimates that may not match actual recovery, and environmental liabilities.
From Agnico Eagle's annual report on Form 40-F and the annual information form filed with it, filed March 19, 2026, in our words; the 40-F has the full description and every risk factor. Updated with each new annual report.

Piotroski F-score: how many of nine simple tests of profitability, funding and efficiency the company passed in the year (Piotroski, 2000); 8 or 9 is strong, 0 to 2 weak. Rule of 40: revenue growth plus free cash flow margin; software investors treat 40% or more as the bar. Altman Z'': working capital, retained earnings, operating income and equity weighed against assets and liabilities (Altman, 1995); Altman puts above 2.6 in the safe zone and below 1.1 in the distress zone. Accruals ratio: net income minus cash from operations, over average total assets; lower means profit is backed by cash.
