What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. The site has no accounts, sign-up forms or comments, and we set no cookies. The company search and the valuation tools run in your browser; what you type in them never leaves your device.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, to see which pages people read. It sets no cookies and doesn't follow you across sites: it records the page you visit, the page that sent you, your browser, device type and country, and how fast the page loaded, and shows us only totals. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. To keep your own visits out of the count, open thefilingdesk.net/?notrack once in each browser; /?track undoes it.

Hosting

The site is served by GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page, and may keep them in its logs for security. See GitHub's privacy statement. Our fonts and scripts are served from this site, except Google's ad script and Cloudflare's visitor count.

Advertising

We show ads from Google AdSense to pay for the site. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technology to show ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, and, if you agree, to choose ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

Links to other sites

Reports and stories link to their sources, such as the SEC and news organizations. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about visitors, requests about advertising data are best made to Google, using the links above. You can write to us with any question, and you have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
