Customers Bancorp
Customers Bancorp's revenue rose 14.5% to $818 million in fiscal 2025. Net income was $224 million, up 23.5%. Its return on equity was 11.3%, up from 10.4% a year earlier. Its efficiency ratio was 52.8%, down from 58.3% a year earlier. It paid out $6 million in dividends and buybacks. The diluted share count rose 2.2%.
Return on equity is net income as a share of shareholders' equity; return on tangible equity leaves out goodwill and other intangible assets. The efficiency ratio is operating costs as a share of revenue, so lower means the bank spends less to earn each dollar. Market cap is the last closing share price times the latest diluted share count, so it is approximate. P/E is the last close divided by diluted earnings per share over the last four quarters, or the latest fiscal year where the quarters aren't available; there is none when the company made a loss.

What Customers Bancorp does
Customers Bancorp is a bank holding company. Its subsidiary, Customers Bank, takes deposits and makes loans to businesses and consumers. It describes a branch-light approach: it has a limited number of branches and offices, in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, California and Nevada, and serves many customers through technology and a single point of contact.
It earns money mainly from interest on loans and leases. It lends to commercial businesses, including commercial and industrial loans, commercial real estate and multifamily loans, and nationally to corporations through specialized lending such as fund finance, mortgage finance, equipment financing, healthcare, and technology and venture banking. It also offers residential mortgages and personal loans, payments and treasury services, and banking-as-a-service to fintech companies.
At the end of 2025 it had total assets of $24.9 billion, with total deposits of $20.8 billion.
Its biggest risks, as it describes them
- Credit losses if its allowance for credit losses proves too small.
- Its focus on commercial, commercial real estate and mortgage finance lending.
- Conditions in the commercial real estate market and changes to New York multifamily rules.
- Local economic downturns in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, where it is concentrated.
Income statement
