Net margin is net income as a share of revenue. Free cash flow is cash from operations minus capital spending. Return on equity is net income as a share of shareholders' equity. Market cap is the last closing share price times the latest diluted share count, so it is approximate. P/E is the last close divided by diluted earnings per share over the last four quarters, or the latest fiscal year where the quarters aren't available; there is none when the company made a loss.

Charts show fiscal years, from the 10-K filings.

What Healthcare Services Group does

Healthcare Services Group provides housekeeping, laundry and dietary (food service) management to nursing homes and other healthcare facilities. It provides these services to its customers' facilities, mostly under full-service agreements in which it manages the employees on site and supplies certain supplies.

It has two reportable segments. Environmental Services, which handles cleaning, disinfecting and laundry, accounted for approximately 44.9% of consolidated revenues in 2025. Dietary, which handles food purchasing, meal preparation and dietitian services, represented approximately 55.1%.

Its customers are mainly in healthcare and rely on Medicare and Medicaid payments, so government payment rules affect them. Its agreements are usually cancellable by either side on 30 to 90 days' notice.

Its biggest risks, as it describes them

  • Inflation and higher labor and supply costs, and relying on a few vendors for supplies.
  • A few customers that make up a large part of its revenue.
  • Customers that depend on Medicare and Medicaid payments, which could be cut.
  • Customers' ability to pay, and the bad debts that can follow.
  • Service agreements that either side can cancel on short notice.
